Program Details
The Anoka Technical College Information Technology (IT) Support certificate is a 15-credit program and is designed to prepare graduates to successfully compete for entry-level positions in the IT field.
The program provides students with the basis to become an IT support professional in a help desk environment. This is an entry-level IT position, which involves technical support of end users. IT support professional provide assistance to other employees within or outside of the organization with common IT problems and questions. IT Support professionals work with the ticketing system in the organization to ensures issues are escalated appropriately and resolved. The curriculum combines theoretical design instruction with hands-on implementation practices using current IT tools. Students learn the skills necessary to be successful IT support professionals.

Students can choose to complete this program part-time. Part-time students will take longer to complete their program than students who follow the full-time sequence listed on the official program guide.
Because every course may not be offered each semester, it is important for part-time students to reach out to their faculty advisors for help in planning their long-term, part-time course sequence.

Developmental Courses
Degree students must take MATH 1550 Introduction to Statistics which requires a ACCUPLACER QAS (Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra & Statistics) score of 265. Students who do not meet any of the prerequisites must take the appropriate developmental math course(s) (MATH 0801 Basic Math and/or MATH 0900 Elementary Algebra) as determined by the placement chart before taking MATH 1550.
